Blessing of candles on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, February 1/2: When Jesus was brought to the temple Simeon was there, and he took Jesus in his arms and said that Jesus would be a light. The church candles will be blessed at Mass. You may bring your own candles to Mass that weekend to be blessed......... El domingo 2 de febrero es la Fiesta de la Presentación o Candelaria. Padre Steve bendecirá las velas de la iglesia y cualquier vela que traigas de casa. También tendremos la Bendición de Gargantas después de cada Misa ese fin de semana.

We will have the Blessing of the Throats at the Masses on February 1 & 2 in recognition of the Feast of St. Blaise...... Tendremos la Bendición de las Gargantas en las Misas del 1 y 2 de febrero en reconocimiento a la Fiesta de San Blas.

Invitamos a todos a nuestra Cena de Papas Horneadas, el domingo 2 de febrero a las 5 pm en el salón social. Tendremos papas enormes con aderezos proporcionados por las Servidoras de la Parroquia del Sagrado Corazón. Si su apellido comienza con A-M por favor traiga una ensalada para compartir, apellido N-Z un postre. También jugaremos Lotería, un juego de bingo mexicano. Además, llenaremos bolsas de obsequios para los exámenes finales para los estudiantes de WSU.

We invite everyone to our Baked Potato Blast Supper, Sunday,February 2, at 5 pm in the social hall. We'll have huge potatoes with toppings supplied by the Sacred Heart Women of Service. If your last name starts with A-M please bring a salad to share, last name N-Z a dessert. You can play Lotería, a Mexican bingo game. Also, we will fill finals goody bags for WSU students.

Dinners for Eight is a great way to get to know your church family better. This is for all adults—couples, singles, and friends. You go to dinner once a month for four months, in January, February, March, and April, in different homes, with different people. You host once, and take salad or dessert the other months. The social hall is available for hosting. ALL ADULTS are welcome! Deadline to sign up is January 11. Sign-up by clicking the picture, or use the sheet in the church entrance or social hall.
