The process of considering the Catholic faith for adults (people over the age of 18) is called OCIA. The amount of time spent in OCIA depends upon the individual, but it's normal to spend 1-2 years exploring questions of faith before receiving the Sacraments of Initiation and entering the Catholic church. The Sacraments of Initiation include Baptism (if needed), Confirmation, and First Eucharist, and are offered during the Easter Vigil, the night before Easter. No commitment is required to participate in OCIA, and visitors are welcome though Ash Wednesday, which begins a more focused time of preparation for those who will receive Sacraments.
OCIA for the 2026-2027 year will meet Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 PM, beginning AUGUST 26.
Register to receive Sacraments during Easter 2027 using the form below.
If you have been baptized as a Catholic, we must receive a copy of your Baptism Certificate before FEBRUARY 1, 2027 in order for you to receive Confirmation and First Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. If you don't have a copy of your Baptismal certificate, allow plenty of time to contact the Parish which performed your Baptism and request a certificate. If you were baptized in a different church, please speak with Fr. Steve about which Sacraments you will need if you wish to become Catholic.
For more information, talk to Fr. Steve Dublinski or call the church office, 509-332-5312.

We encourage adults to participate inPARISH GROUPS, which provide opportunities for adults to grow in faith, love, and service, and make friendships with other Catholics.
